Love how tumblr has its own folk stories. Yeah the God of Arepo we’ve all heard the story and we all still cry about it. Yeah that one about the woman locked up for centuries finally getting free. That one about the witch who would marry anyone who could get her house key from her cat and it’s revealed she IS the cat after the narrator befriends the cat.

Ava picking up an old academic journal from one of the second hand stores in Switzerland. Its spine slightly warped, cracked, with blue ink in the margins. Reading it in the most inconvenient places. Getting a few pages in when the bar slows. Ava who devours it, beginning to scour shelves, looking for anything.

Bea who comes home one day with a handful of journals. Stacks them neatly on the nightstand among the chaos that is Ava. Relishing in the way that Ava smiles when she sees them. Listening as she recaps articles ranging from biochemistry to sociology. Allowing her to talk about molecules during their sessions. Continually encouraging her to explore.

I just feel like Ava would enjoy academic journals.

Saying they’re canceling A League of Their Own’s already abbreviated second season because of the strikes is 100% a strike tactic on the part of the studios. They absolutely can wait, and they know the fans will 100% wait, no matter how long it takes. Garbage. Hot, hot, garbage.

In light of the news about Amazon retroactively canceling the already insultingly short 4 episode ALOTO season 2, it’s important to remember they are doing this 1. Cause they never wanted to make it in the first place. And 2. Because they want to sway public opinion against the strikes in their favor. DO NOT GIVE IN!

People deserve fair compensation, better working conditions, and more for their work. They can cancel all my favorite shows, I don’t care. Labor rights are human rights. Solidarity!

It’s OK to be mad/sad/disappointed. Just remember WHY and WHO that anger should be directed toward. The studio because they refuse to pay people fair wages!!! (Which they CAN ABSOLUTELY afford!)
